Though my neighborhood is peaceful, the city I live in is not as much. I live in Jacksonville, Florida, which has one of the highest crime rates in America. But still, I've never encountered, witnessed or been near a crime that's happened near my location.

In my neighborhoo, people are very polite and say "hello" and "good morning" to each other even if they don't know you. It's peacefully quiet and the only brusque noise you hear at night are dogs barking in someone's yard.
Even though we have curbside trash and garbage pick-up, the service is not very good. The response time for the police can be up to 2 hours. As far as emergency vehicles, i.e. fire trucks and ambulances, the response time seems to be a little better than the police. The local and state representatives all need to be voted OUT.
