Over 40 years of living all over Austin, Allandale is easily my favorite! Great people, great schools, great lifestyle (restaurants, parks, shops, grocery, bars, etc), and quick easy commutes to Downtown to South or Domain/Aboretum/MLS Stadium and so much more to North. Growing the way it should. Love it!
The neighborhood is changing for the worse. Vagabonds and even prostitutes hang out on the street corners. A few weeks ago, I was parked outside the Taco Bell on Burnet and Anderson, when a big, unkempt, rough-looking man slammed my window with his fist and demanded that I give him money. The neighborhood is on the decline.
This neighborhood is safe, has a good community, good schools, and it a great place for kids to grow up in.
