Ahwatukee Foothills Reviews
My husband and I absolutely LOVE Ahwatukee! We moved here from Orange County, CA, and will not be moving back to CA anytime soon. We have everything we need within 5 minutes driving. Plus, we are just 15 minutes from downtown Phoenix. There are tons of restaurants, bars, stores and services around here. The area is clean and safe, and everyone is super nice! If you are considering moving to the Phoenix Area, we highly recommend Ahwatukee.
I have lived in Ahwatukee with my wife and children for over six years and it is by far my favorite place I have lived in since moving to Arizona. We live in a house less than half a mile from where our seven year old goes to school (Cerritos Elementary). The schools are excellent, with elementary schools falling under the Kyrene School District and the High Schools falling under Tempe Union. There are several park and walking/biking trails that you can explore, we have a YMCA and a large modern Phoenix Community center. Shopping and grocery stores are plentiful and we have very low crime rates. The village is slowly diversifying it's population but you do see Asian, African-American, and Hispanic families (my family included). You won't regret moving here.
I've been in Ahwatukee for 18 years. I haven't lived anywhere else in Arizona. For those that mentioned that there is not diversity here, they are wrong. There is a lot of young professionals of all races here. Hispanics, white, black, Asian and a lot of Indians from India. Ahwatukee is divided between the Foothills and Ahwatukee. You find the diversity more in Ahwatukee. Around Elliot, Warner, Ray and Chandler closer to 48th streets. All the apartments and condos have lots of young professionals of all races. I've seen good and bad things happening here. We have rude drivers traveling towards the Foothills and lots of accidents near Target and ray and 48th street.
