Schools in Munhall are pretty bad. There’s lots of bullying, drugs, ect. Teachers don’t really care either. Police are okay but there have been shootings in the neighborhood or places close by. There aren’t many job opportunities in the neighborhood so you’ll have to commute outside the neighborhood to get one. There’s not a lot of crime or bad things that happen at night. There have been a few dangerous events, but it’s pretty rare. Overall, I wouldn’t really recommend living there with kids who have to go to school unless you absolutely have to. There are much better surrounding neighborhoods.
My overall experience living in munhall is great, everybody is very friendly and involved in the community including myself. Not only all that but its a very safe area as well.
I have lived in Munhall all my life and it has been a very good town to me. Located about ten minutes from down town Pittsburgh so your not far from many of the popular areas. Small town but not too small so it was a great place to grow up and be able to go around town to hand out with friends. Only thing I would like to see is more maintenance around town. Some areas could use some remodeling and they definitely need to pave a lot of streets.
Living in Munhall has given me many different experiences and opportunities that other might not face in their teen years. There are many different work opportunities and volunteer opportunities. Munhall is nearly 5 minutes from the Waterfront, axe throwing, bowling alleys, escape rooms, you name it and we probable have it. Munhall, more like Funhall.
There isn’t much violence it’s very calm. The waterfront shopping area is only ten minutes away. There is also Sandcastle water park and Kennywood amusement park within ten minutes.
Its a small town ok people, it has everthing on its one Main st its growing and I hope to see it turn into one of the best places to live.
I’ve lived there all my life and I love the area so much. Very family friendly and the local businesses are growing more and more.
The school District needs a New superintendent that actually was a teacher not an ex-football coach. The superintendent changed the rules and kids did not get their advanced classes like they were told to this school year, this has been a huge problem this year for the kids in the school district. It needs to change to let the kids advance to get to college and other institutions. Kids education is a terrible thing to waste.
Munhall is a close knit community which is struggling with diversity. Many are striving for unity and continue to build connections with the churches. The school district is improving a great deal with after school programs and sporting activities available. The police force is strong and does a super job interacting with people of all ages and cracking down on crimes. I have been a Munhall resident for over 20 years and have seen much activities. One morning I left my home to go grocery shopping and found $500.00 on the street, taking the cash to the police station and filed a report. After months of investigations we discovered my neighbor was a drug dealer. That woke me up to start making changes to help the community even more.
QUIET AREA . DIVERSE AREA. GREAT AT KEEPING STREETS CLEAN IN BAD WEATHER. LOTS OF BUS SERVICE. WATERFRONT NEARBY.COST OF LIVING IS VERY AFFORDABLE FOR THE TIME BEING. DOG FRIENDLY
Homely town, very friendly. Main Street, USA feel. Small town, home of the Ironmen. Munhall is a great place to raise a family.
Munhall is a quiet, quaint little town with tons of local businesses and easy access to the Waterfront and Downtown Pittsburgh. Everyone knows everyone here. The only thing that stops me from giving Munhall five stars is the school district, but recently there have been new additions to the school board that should make a big improvement in the next few years.
I feel very safe where I am and I feel like there are always cops around to help.
The police are great and respond very quickly.
Recently, in the city of pittsburgh, crime has been a problem. More than once my school had to close early because of shootings near the area. I have had to leave sports practice because of two different hostage situations. Many of my friends have lost siblings, friends, and family to gun violence. It should not be like this, and i would not want my children to grow up in this area. There is honestly a shooting once every two weeks. I am sometimes scared to be outside at night.
A lot of new businesses have been opening recently in my area. I believe our sports teams greatly benefit the city of Pittsburgh. We are unlike any other city in the world. You can ask anyone on the street of pittsburgh for help, and they would take the time out of their day to help you.
