Love it here! Best cute little town. Love the events they have going on all the time at the parks and things around the holidays, there are lots of food trucks, and the downtown is growing! wish there were some more fast food options and more affordable apartment complexes that were still nice. Close to Milwaukee and other good shopping areas! Great location. Everyone is very kind and friendly.
Mukwonago is a wonderful place to live. The safety in the area is up to the highest standard in the nation and infrastructure is of fantastic quality. There are only a moderate amount of job opportunities in the area unless one has a college education, which can expand choices a lot. In addition to this, almost everyone is super friendly and will go out of there way to see how you're doing! Definitely a great move to live here.
I currently live in Mukwonago, and I should start by saying I did not expect to like it because I prefer a more urban setting. We bought a house here due to its proximity to my husband's job.
Pros: Mukwonago is relatively safe and people are generally friendly. There are some great parks, though, including Field Park, Mukwonago Park (part of the Waukesha County Park system), and the dog park. Unless you live near the village center, walking and biking is not easily done. The village is working on improving the downtown area, which is good to see. It is near Rt. 43, which makes commuting into Milwaukee pretty easy.
Cons: Residents are pretty homogeneously white. There are only a handful of restaurants and only one or two of them are "good". There are not enough good restaurants to support the population of the village. There is a Walgreen's wasting a bunch of space in the downtown area. There are too many "Trump 2020" signs and bumper stickers for my liking.
