The excellent reputation of the schools, physical beauty of the town, and presence of lakes with swimming beaches is what attracted my family to Mountain Lakes. Once here, the best surprise of all is the sense of community that runs throughout the town. The variety of interests, clubs, and sports is wonderful: there's community in this town for everyone. Laker Pride! ("Lakers" are the historic Hapgood homes, but "Lakers" are also the residents of this wonderful town.

There's no place like this town! Call it Mayberry or Camelot, it's a special place to both grow up and raise children. Nine lakes, family activities, welcoming community, active volunteers, GREAT SCHOOLS, beautiful hills, trees and historic homes. You know your children's friends and parents. They have a welcoming cocktail party each year for new residents! I grew up here and raised back to raise my children here. I'd rather have my kids ride their bike to school or the beach than ride a train to Manhattan. What's your priority? This town is a gem!
I grew up here and moved back to raise my children. There's literally no place like this beautiful, welcoming town. It's so easy to get to know people, get involved, and feel like you're a part of the community. With 9 lakes and the Tourne County Park, it's a dream for outdoor recreation. Swimming, boating, fishing, skating, hiking, mountain biking is all here. We have a charming downtown with 2 great restaurants, and Boonton and Denville are adjacent offering great places to shop and eat. Plus, Whole Foods just opened in Parsippany. A bus to NYC goes through town. Major highways here too. You can't beat Mountain Lakes for raising a family with top schools and a wonderful sense of community.
