The excellent reputation of the schools, physical beauty of the town, and presence of lakes with swimming beaches is what attracted my family to Mountain Lakes. Once here, the best surprise of all is the sense of community that runs throughout the town. The variety of interests, clubs, and sports is wonderful: there's community in this town for everyone. Laker Pride! ("Lakers" are the historic Hapgood homes, but "Lakers" are also the residents of this wonderful town.

There's no place like this town! Call it Mayberry or Camelot, it's a special place to both grow up and raise children. Nine lakes, family activities, welcoming community, active volunteers, GREAT SCHOOLS, beautiful hills, trees and historic homes. You know your children's friends and parents. They have a welcoming cocktail party each year for new residents! I grew up here and raised back to raise my children here. I'd rather have my kids ride their bike to school or the beach than ride a train to Manhattan. What's your priority? This town is a gem!
Mountain Lakes is a town where family is a priority, people look out for one another and their children, and education is valued. The students strive toward excellence and support each other in this goal. There is plenty to do and everyone gets involved. The lakes are beautiful, and people are constantly outdoors. The schools are superior, and the teachers truly care about their students. The students are treated with respect and dignity. There are fantastic local restaurants. NYC is an easy drive, and there is little to no congestion in the surrounding towns. As you drive home, and enter the community, it feels like a sanctuary. The police force is amazing and genuinely there for the safety of the citizens. There is truly no other place I would want to raise my children.
