I've lived in Mountain House for almost a decade. We've definitely seen the developers vision come to fruition! When we arrived here, the economy was in a deep recession, but after seeing the 10 year developement plan and talking with a few optimistic residents we felt it was wise to ride the recession out. Did I mention, there are numerous jogging trails and even a free water park here? 10 years later, it's been one of the best decisions we've made. We now have four children, a home based business, and own our second home here. Not to mention, the value of our home has increase almost double since the positive economic turn. I've certainly live in the ideal "Young Family" neighborhood!

You have to look at reviews of Mountain House critically, because the reviews depend upon one's basis of comparison. Compared to Cupertino, Palo Alto or Dublin (where many residents are from), it can seem a little dull and inconvenient, but compared to other parts of the Central Valley, it is as good as it gets! Beautiful, green and friendly. It is a very diverse area, where people are generally friendly and welcoming of each other, and there is a strong sense of community. The schools are great, it has great parks, it is family friendly, and your kids will make new friends almost instantly.
Mountain House is an amazing community focused town. The schools and park amenities are excellent. The homes are beautiful and the neighbors are friendly.
Currently there is extremely limited commerical options in the city. Specifically, there are no Grocery stores, banks, pharmacies, etc. All residents must commute to neighboring towns in order to receive services. In addition, there are very heavily taxed utilities which make your water, electric, sewer and trash much higher then other towns nearby.
