I love Mt.Vernon I have lived there for 13 years there are great schools. Everyone knows each other. We all go through something together and no one is left behind. There is great after school programs like sports.( archery ,football ,basketball ,baseball and many more) If Mount Vernon doesn't have something that you want Springfield is a bigger town that's only about 45 minutes away or Republic that I think about 15 minutes away
Mount Vernon is a nice, quiet little town with a touch of convenience. There is variety when it comes to grocery shopping, restaurants, and even where to get your oil changed. What adds to the unique touch of this town is, you have very friendly people here that treat you as if they have known you all their life.
