Mount olive has a great blend of rural feel and also the convenience of markets, shopping, and major roads. Tons of parks and wildlife close by for biking and hiking trails. Great for families because he schools are quality and the sports offerings are plenty and the programs top notch. I highly recommend as a resident of 15 years. Property taxes are high but most of NJ is.

Mount Olive (M.O.) is a very good town. All of the schools are great, and offer a large variety of classes. Outside of academics, the park (Turkey Brooke), is a fun place to hang out with friends, play sports, go for a bike ride, or any other outdoor activity you're interested in. There are many good restaurants in M.O., too. One that I love is called 'The After'. It is similar to a diner; they offer all kinds of food and they are very well known for their amazing ice cream. I gave M.O. a four star rating because the only problem I can think of is the roads. When it snows, the town does a pretty good job at plowing the roads. However, this leaves a ton of potholes and bumps, and M.O. is not good at paving roads AT ALL during the warmer months. So there are many areas that are pretty beaten up.
I've lived in Mount Olive Township since I was in preschool and still live here at 23 years old. In comparison to other towns, Mount Olive really holds its own. The schools are excellent, the people are friendly, and new stores and restaurants are continuing to open making it more attractive. Commuting is very easy being in Northern NJ.
