Working in Morrow
Having lived in Morrow going on three years, I can quickly attest to two things. It's affordability and plentiful public transportation that thins as you go south into Union City. Shopping is plentiful with Southlake Mall around the corner. The long stretch of Tara Blvd provides plenty options too. However, if you get that urge for the chain restaurant burger, you'll have to travel a bit south to Stockbridge or Mcdonough to get your choice of restaurants to sedate your pallete. However there is diversity here in Morrow! Plenty small food shops and groceries to choose from the local Asian and African cultures if you're in the mood for variety. If you have children, there are numerous schools and play areas around. The local Community Room on Jonesboro Rd has plenty happenings flash on their digital sign as you drive by, advertising upcoming happenings to become more involved in your community.
I like that the community is small. Its location is almost perfect for commuting depending on what part of Morrow you're living in. The city is 25 minutes from Atlanta, 15 minutes from the airport, and it's close to other popular metro Atlanta cities(i.e. Mcdonough, Stockbridge, Fayetteville, Decatur, Ellenwood, College Park and etc.). The city recently started public transit again and I would like to an improvement in the routes. It currently takes me over 2 hours to get to the rail station by bus and if I would drive or took lyft it would take less than 20 minutes.
I lived in Morrow, Ga for two years and I have to say that it was one of the best places I lived so far! My neighbors were friendly and alert. They were really the type you could go to if you needed to "borrow" some sugar. I felt really safe and happy when I lived on Twilight Trail—which is right over the train tracks in from Walmart. I only moved because I didn't like the actual house anymore. If I could have replaced the house with another house, I'd still be on Twilight Trail! Hopefully I can go back in a few years.
