Overall, Morehead City is an amazing town to raise a family in. I have grown up in this small beach town my entire life, and it has brought me the fondest of memories. Going to the beach each weekend, biking around town, and feeling completely safe are some of the best feelings a hometown can bring.
Great place to live if you love small cities and the ocean! Moderate shopping locations and no night life scene. Needs more diversity but does have that southern beach city charm.
Morehead City is located on the East coast of North Carolina. It is in Carteret County. About 2 years ago, Morehead City was hit by hurricane Florence pretty severely. Even today, businesses, homes, parks are still trying to be mended. It is coming along greatly.
Great city, this is a seasonal tourist town. This city has a big sportfishing community, lots of churches, and is very safe. Healthy events like runs or marathons are held a lot. I would recommend this place for its beautiful scenery. This is a very localized place. This is a great place to raise an upper-middle-class family. It is not very affordable. This is an excellent place to vacation as well if you have money. There is not much for young people to do in this city. This city has a very strong anti-drug task force and a strong recovery community.
It is an amazing little city. It right near the beach. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. It is great to visit around the summer.
Beautiful small town on the water with access to everything the Crystal Coast has to offer. I came here for a week's vacation 35 years ago and never left!
Morehead City is beautiful. It's a small town but now too small, it has everything you need. The waterfront and the sound are like little slices of heaven. It's a paradise just minutes from the beach. Small town shops & bits of historical sites add to its charm. Neighbors and strangers are friendly. It's a wonderful place to raise a family.
It is a very safe and quiet place to live. If you don't like fishing or the beach you would hate it here. Everyone is friendly but not in a lasting friendship way, people stick with their own groups and do not add anyone who isn't family. It can be very lonely to a new comer. Morehead city is very affordable and easy to manage on a fixed income. Lots of animals, no dog parks without paying for them. I love my condo, its quiet and very clean.
I love the area, living in Chapel Hill now, I hate this town, moving to the Crystal coast after 1st the holidays, great friendly people, I have conservative views so where I am now is a nightmare for me and greatly out #erd
A very nice ocean town. Where you can go to the beach, visit historic places, eat at nice restaurants. Enjoy the peaceful feeling with out the all the people.
Morehead City is close enough to the beach to enjoy it, yet just far enough away to avoid the seasonal issues. There is plenty of fine restaurants and nightlife, yet it is a quick drive away into the surrounding country.
it's a beautiful city . On the water great scenic views and lots of choices for outdoor activities on the water and out. Shopping is decent as well as restaurant choices
Morehead city is very quaint and enjoyable. The food is phenomenal as well as the customer service. Local stores and businesses offer quality services and items.
I moved to Newport, a small town adjacent to Morehead City. I work and attend college in Morehead City, currently. This is a small town right on the beautiful water known as the Crystal Coast. Here, everyone is willing to help their neighbor. I moved from a tiny town called Pilot Mountain in western North Carolina so the familiarity of this tight nit community is like a piece of home. I'm not much of a partier, but the nightlife here suits me very well. The local restaurants, art venues, and the beach nearby is suitable for not only young singles, but perfect for families as well. I highly recommend my town, a port city with good people and even better values.
Morehead City is filled with exciting things to do.
I have no problems with the safety.
