Moorhead has a good small town feel, if that is what you're looking for. Most entertainment is just across the border in Fargo, ND. Moorhead Public Schools are growing very rapidly as well. However, that has caused water quality issues to occur multiple times in the past two school years. The Fargo/Moorhead area keeps expanding, especially North Moorhead and West Fargo. The Moorhead Center Mall isn't very busy in comparison to Fargo's West Acres Mall. If a few well-known stores were to be in the Moorhead Center Mall, it would most likely get more traffic in the mall, as Herberger's has been able to survive there.

Moorhead is a great place to live. Unfortunately, I just wish there was reciprocity when it comes to income tax. Moorhead has property specials like Fargo, but without the added benefit of the income tax - granted property taxes are "lower" than Fargo. It has disheartening to see so many businesses leave the Moorhead area, Sam's Club, Spicy Pie, Day's Inn, A tap room.
Besides the fact that there isn't a lot of diversity, there is a lot of friendly people, and there's many things to do. Since it's a smaller city, there are lots of things that wouldn't be in the main cities, as well as there are nice locally owned establishments. The people are quick to help you if you need it. The times I've gone out to eat, the waiters and waitresses have been simply amazing, frequently tending to you to make sure you’re doing okay, even suggesting foods and items that are brilliant. In my humble opinion, Moorhead is a nice town, and only needs to work on bringing more diversity into the areas.
