While there are "big companies" here from the common fast food businesses, such as McDonald's, to big retail stores, such as Belk, there is also a great deal of "mom-and-pop shops." There's something for anybody. If one were to want something name brand, such as Aeropostale, Hollister, JCPenny, etc, or something cute made by a crafty individual in a small, local store, there's always somewhere to go. No matter what kind of item someone is looking for, there's something for everyone. Our local businesses are continually growing, with new and improving places such as Bridgestreet, or small hair salon's like Christy & Co that is small and owned by family/friends. Our local businesses are honestly wonderful, and only getting better to suit the needs of our citizens.
Being a mixture of technological jobs, and "labor-intensive" jobs, Huntsville is one of the best places to work. Huntsville isn't an extremely big area, with only technological jobs that require degrees like a big city might, but there is also hard labor workers needed too. So no matter if an individual is a computer geek, and aerospace engineer, or a home-builder, they can always find a job here. Huntsville is home of the US Space and Rocket Center, and also provides a space for Redstone Arsenal, along with some of the biggest construction companies, and some decent sized factories. A lot of places in the area are even good about hiring teenagers, giving everyone an equal opportunity to have a job.
Nothing really goes on around here, but sometimes and occurrence will come up here and there though, it is resolved quickly.
