For small town, scenery is nice. Local access to Lake Cumberland. Library is brand new and has a great connection with the local community. Aspire center has a basketball court and an outdoor pool. Downtown has a great farmer's market for supporting the locals. To learn more about the history side - there is a wonderful history museum located downtown too.

I have lived in Monticello almost my whole life. It's a small town with not much to do, but there are many different accesses to Lake Cumberland which is a good thing if you like fishing, swimming, boating, etc. I would like to see more job opportunities and more recreational activities come to Monticello.
My experience is this is a very poor town. The elected officials are generational and they arent commuted to any type of growth. Just a dead end town thats only benefit is summer tourism from a beautiful lake
