People from different walks of life live here in relative peace and mutual support. There is a good rapport between the city leaders and the populace. A growing medical center is adding to the community's ability to extend care to many people in an area of the state with diminishing population. There is concern shown for people of all ages and abilities, with a public desire to increase services to all. Although many residents have a long history of living here, they welcome new faces and help them become part of the community. We enjoy an international flavor with a sister-city relationship with Montevideo, Uruguay.
It is a quaint town with friendly people. Personally the weather was too extreme for me. However, the community is a great one with plenty of friendly and helpful people. There aren't many chain restaurants, as expected for a small town, but the local places are quite nice and delicious. Overall between the people and places within the town, it is a nice place to live.
Montevideo was my home until I moved away for college. It's a great small town, it may not have much to do, however it has plenty of potential. The movie theater was recently renovated, the small brewery, I hear, is wonderful and connected to the delicious Jake's Pizza. The downtown is small but has a few nice boutiques and restaurants. It has parks, camp grounds, a Walmart, great schools, and is very family friendly overall.
