I've lived here in Monsey most of my life, and have experienced many things growing up here. Due to the heavily Jewish community around me, I was able to experience many privilege's growing up. One of the things being the safety of a Jewish community here in Monsey. I never had an issue walking around the city to get to a friends house or exploring the neighbor hood. my parents always knew that they did not have to worry about any sort of crimes in the area, as the crime rate here is extremely low. Another luxury is all the Jewish institutions to help with my financial needs when it came to schooling or medical needs. Growing up in Monsey gave a lot to me that I am lucky to have.
What I like about Monsey is the community. There are also diverse shopping centers that are local. In addition, my neighborhood is nice and peaceful surrounded by lots of greenery. I would like to see change with the roads and traffic lights, and they need improvement and to be updated because of the increase in population over the last few years.
Monsey is a warm community, with outstanding leaders that supports an atmosphere that everybody cares about one another.
The care people have between each other goes beyond giving a cup of sugar to the neighbors. Its a common sight to see people stopping to help someone whose car broke down, and even chatting friendly as they offer assistance.
The high cost of living does make things a bit challenging, although for the warm and home-y feel, I'm glad I live in Monsey. It truly is, home sweet home.
