Mohawk is a quaint little town, but there is not much to do in the area. It is a great place to raise children, but expect a commute if you intend on working. I would like to see more businesses move into the area.
The employment in this area is no where near great many people are unemployed and have completely given up on trying to find a job and contribute to society. Many members of the community have had to settle for jobs that they don't enjoy just to feed their families. This causes another issue, middle aged people are having to take any job they can get including jobs that normal high school or college students would take for summer or school year jobs taking away the vital work experience so desperately needed by America's youth.
One of the few fortunate things in my rural area is that we live on the edge of the Adirondack state park making it a scenic area to live in. The state park is gorgeous in all the seasons of the year. It offers colorful foliage in the fall, snow capped ski resorts in the winter, budding and blossoming forest in the spring, and cool secluded glacial lakes in the summer. Also coming from a small farm town fields can be found in all directions with hardworking farmers lowing their fields to make a profit.
