Beautiful Mobile has something to offer people of every culture and lifestyle. In the 2 years I've lived here I've been able to connect with fellow veterans at the USS Alabama, my son has had endless fun at the various family friendly parks around the city, and my husband is able to fish for days on the bay or lakes. When family comes to visit, there's no shortage of sites to see or stores to visit. Nothing beats a perfectly warm Saturday morning strolling the historical streets of downtown lined with quaint small businesses. For those looking for 21+ up, beautiful and lively Dauphin St is waiting. Complete with twinkle lights that line the street like a canopy, Dauphin and the surrounding streets offer clubs, country bars, and chill dive bars. You'll never be at a loss for fun here! When I arrived here in the middle of June from Alaska, I couldn't wait to leave and get back to a colder climate. While I still long for snow, I can honestly say I will miss all that Mobile has to offer.

I have always loved how friendly the people are here in the Deep South. Southern hospitality is not a myth. In the neighborhood where I live many people run or walk or walk their dogs. All are ready to stop and have a conversation.

I think the worst thing about Mobile, AL is the heat in the middle of the summer. However, the rest of the year is amazing! Trees flower all year long and lawns stay green most of the year. We have bird sanctuaries all up and down the gulf coast so there is quite a variety to watch.

If you are ever thinking of moving to Mobile, be prepared to be amazed. It's a beautiful city and I love it here.
I enjoyed living on the Gulf Coast! Additionally, the climate is pretty nice as well. You get to really enjoy all four seasons. It would be great to see the city invest in planning more permanent family friendly activities. It appears they are trying to move in that direction. However, there are several awesome museums in the city now. Mobile is the home of Mardi Gras!
