Mission Bend is incredibly diverse as it is right next to the international corridor of west Houston. As such, the amount of various cultures found here really adds to the atmosphere of local communities. It's great to be able to do things like pick up bubble tea in one shop and walk down the street to an African foods store to buy some hard-to-find ingredients for a new recipe.

There are pockets of nicer real estate, but most of the area would probably be considered lower middle-class to lower-class. Crime is higher than in most other parts of Houston, but not obscenely so.

It's a nice working class area. We've lived here for 6 months now and have made nice with a few of our neighbors. Our kids walk to the neighborhood park and play safely. It's clean. My only complaint, which is not exclusive to mission bend, the way people drive (too fast and unaware) makes me cautious about letting my kids ride their bikes around the neighborhood. Otherwise great. The schools are pretty good. Looking to purchase a rental property in the future.
There are a lot of places to go around Mission Bend, and a lot to do (such as working there, going to places to eat, etc.). Most of the people there are nice, so connections can easily be made. Although it is not the safest suburb to live in, it is pretty good in terms of the activities and people that are there.
