I have only encountered and have lived in Minot, North Dakota because of the Air Force. But honeslty, I can't complain! If it wasn't for the winters that are to be endured in this location, I would give Minot a five-star rating. Aside from that, the location is great! Traveling in each direction can bring you to mountains, cities and historical monuments in such short distance. The selection of restaurants and shopping locations are great and there is also a pleather of markets to choose from for grocery shopping.

The people are really welcoming and the community is close-knit, while at the same time being very diverse for North Dakota. The best-kept secret of Ebenezer's Irish Pub and eatery is truly a hidden gem and the lakes nearby harbor many different kinds of fish. Hunting season typically brings in a bountiful harvest and the locals are very helpful and open to disclosing their favorite tactics and locations. The public schooling here is solid, and uncharacteristically removed from bullying and other bad influences.
My time in Minot has defiantly been different. I'm use to a big city with lots of traffic and noise. Minot is different because everything is slower and there is traffic and noise but its not as obvious as a big city. One thing that I haven't gotten use to yet is that everything closes around 8 pm. I think the one thing that I would change would be the amount of construction work done or make it go faster. I know that the workers have a schedule but its annoying not seeing some stuff get done over a period of time. Also the oil companies are here and their bad for the environment. Besides that everything is pretty good. I like going downtown and looking into all of the different stores. There's the cutest bookstore down there. There is an art museum but I haven't been inside it yet and a pottery studio where I want to take some classes. There's a really cool record store, it's my parents favorite. At one point during the summer a huge fair comes around. It's a lot of fun.
