Mineola is an amazing town. We moved here from East Meadow because we wanted to be in a village. Village services are top notch. The garbage men take everything no matter how big, the streets are always plowed over and over during snow so everyone can get to work on time, and the pool and parks are gorgeous! Taxes are low because of the industry such as the expanding NYU hospital and all of the local businesses. There are so many things to do including having the fire department bring Santa to your house to visit your kids and bring presents, yes it’s by appointment and only one family at a time! There are amazing concerts in the park in the summer and fireworks on 4th of July. There are many parades and other community activities. The schools are amazing and top notch as well!

Mineola is a great little town on Long Island to live in. Commuters have easy travel since there is an LIRR station located in Mineola. There is also a hospital located in Mineola. The school district of Mineola is okay, in react years they have been leaning on teaching computer science. There has been a react growth of apartment complexes in Mineola in the last few years. The Mineola Memorial Park is a great place to walk around. Sometimes during the summer, there are different events that are held. Overall, Mineola is a great family-friendly town to live in.
I grew up in Mineola and graduated from Wheatley High School in Old Westbury. My family has been residing in Mineola since 1976. I love the quiet atmosphere and the community is so friendly and convenient. Just two blocks away from Jericho turnpike and you have everything you need within walking distance. I love the fact that it is a very low crime area and I have never felt so safe before knowing that I can walk out my door and know I will be safe with no problems. My mom tells me all about growing up on our block and the fun they had! Everyone got along from all cultures, religion and race. Even though I an African American, I never felt excluded or experienced no type of racial profiling. If I live to bee 100, I would love to raise a family in this town and teach my kids how I had such an easy and carefree life living in Mineola. The best years of my life!!
