I immigrated to the United States in April 2016. I remember coming here, and instantly falling in love with the steep mountains and lush green parks. My mom has never worried about me, being a girl, stepping out for walks in my neighborhood park after dinner, or walking to the close by market complex, which, by the way, has a lot amenities. It has whatever we could possibly need on an urgent basis. A Walgreens pharmacy, Pure water,Mcdonalds for last minute to-go food, is all walking distance.Where it probably lacks, the job opportunities. Milpitas, being a small town has scarce job opportunities. Also, my neighborhood is dominated by Asians, which leaves little room for ethnic diversity. How ever, Schools are centrally located, which makes it easier for kids to commute daily. It is a pretty decent place to live, especially if you're new to the country as people are friendly and approachable. In a nutshell, if you want to live an easy-going, comfortable, quiet life, choose Milpitas!

I moved from Redmond Wa to Milpitas California, and the difference were striking. The best thing about the place was the warmth and light. At first it felt a little dusty, but gradually it started to feel really clean and I loved the place. Loved the hills and scenic landscapes and the sunlight. The best thing I enjoyed in Milpitas was the library. Awesome place to spend time, learn, mingle with people, and learn about the place too. Overall experience, AWESOME!
Nice small city where I feel at home. The school district is very good, giving me a great education. I love the diverse foods and always feel safe, as Milpitas Police is always patrolling around the city. It's surrounded by high tech opportunities, good food and so many things to do in the lovely bay area. The Milpitas BART station is about to open soon which will make it easy to get to the city if you want to work or play there. Also, the Santa Cruz beaches are no more than an hour away. So close to all the major highways too. It's a great city to live. The only thing is it is primarily Asian populated, so not a lot of diversity, but very family and career oriented professionals.
