I immigrated to the United States in April 2016. I remember coming here, and instantly falling in love with the steep mountains and lush green parks. My mom has never worried about me, being a girl, stepping out for walks in my neighborhood park after dinner, or walking to the close by market complex, which, by the way, has a lot amenities. It has whatever we could possibly need on an urgent basis. A Walgreens pharmacy, Pure water,Mcdonalds for last minute to-go food, is all walking distance.Where it probably lacks, the job opportunities. Milpitas, being a small town has scarce job opportunities. Also, my neighborhood is dominated by Asians, which leaves little room for ethnic diversity. How ever, Schools are centrally located, which makes it easier for kids to commute daily. It is a pretty decent place to live, especially if you're new to the country as people are friendly and approachable. In a nutshell, if you want to live an easy-going, comfortable, quiet life, choose Milpitas!

I moved from Redmond Wa to Milpitas California, and the difference were striking. The best thing about the place was the warmth and light. At first it felt a little dusty, but gradually it started to feel really clean and I loved the place. Loved the hills and scenic landscapes and the sunlight. The best thing I enjoyed in Milpitas was the library. Awesome place to spend time, learn, mingle with people, and learn about the place too. Overall experience, AWESOME!
Milpitas is a great place for new families to raise their children. It's also ideal for tech workers that commute to bigger cities like Fremont, San Jose, Sunnyvale or Cupertino. Living in Milpitas, you're equidistant from San Francisco, Oakland and Santa Cruz. Milpitas has had a lot of change over the last handful of years with new housin developments, a soon to be BART station being built, and new shopping centers being added. With a lot of elementary schools to choose from, children can get valuable education and high schoolers now have the option to concurrently enroll in a new college program offered by Evergreen community college. We have a huge variety of cuisine to choose from thanks to our diverse community. You can be within walking distance of traditional Vietnamese, Indian, Mexican, or Thai food.
