Mifflintown is in the center of a rural farming community primarily Caucasians with a Hispanic and other ethnic minorities. Religious variety is primarily Christian, but surprisingly diverse in denominations. The area also has a heavy Mennonite and Amish population.

Crime, taxes and cost of living are low, the area is generally clean and well-kept, but most residents are born and die in the area, are interrelated and of small a world view. Growth, education, employment and entertainment are limited, but available. Further economic, education and cultural growth and diversity require a perspective paradigm shift.

The community has a library, drive-in theater, major grocery store, banks, doctors, car parts stores, dollar stores, pharmacies, restaurants, major highway access, a hardware and home improvement store, park, industrial park and more. For national brands, travel 20-30 minutes, 45-60 if desiring variety. Camping, fishing, hunting are hiking are often right in backyards.

I like that Mifflintown has so many places to eat and shop. It is a great place to take your family, coworkers, or friends to eat. It is also a great place to live because of the local cuisine and great local community. The community is very close knit and the people are great. Overall, it is a great place to live and it’s a great place if you are looking for great food.
I have lived near Mifflintown most of my life (within 20 minutes) and have recently moved there. It is a small town with limited job opportunities and few businesses. The town does have a diverse culture. However, the school system is lacking.
