Mifflin Township Reviews
At the major intersections in the downtown area, there are designated crosswalks for the pedestrians. At the other intersections outside of downtown, there are no crosswalks and pedestrians walk across when the corresponding light turns green. Sometimes drivers and/or pedestrians do not pay attention and go through the intersection thinking the other will pay attention. Once in a while there is accidents in regards to one or the other not paying attention. There is plenty of parking available in the Mansfield area unless there is a major event that draws a large crowd, like a county fair or high school football games on Friday nights for example. The public transportation system in Mansfield is good. Buses run specific routes everyday and there are a lot of people who use the bus to get to work and to get home and the taxi cabs get their clients to their destinations safely and quickly.
There are very few attractions in the Mansfield area. One of the bigger attractions is the Ohio State Reformatory. It is a haunted jail cell where inmates used to be housed when they were serving their sentences before the current one was built. It was also the location of the filming of the "Shawshank Redemption" movie. It brings in millions of dollars every year. Another big attraction is the Mid Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, minutes south of downtown Mansfield. Both the IndyCar and Nascar Nationwide Series' have been coming to the race course in recent years for a regular season race and will continue to do so for years to come. Also the course holds other racing events throughout the year. This also brings in millions for the area combining all of the races at the course held during the year.
The majority of the general public is healthy fitness wise, and the attitude of about half of the public living in the area is pretty good. Just like any other town in America, there are some people who are cruel and mean and do not apologize for their actions. If I could do it all over again, I would choose to live in the Mansfield area because of the educational opportunities for the children and adult students. In the future for the Mansfield area, I see some businesses moving to this area and others closing their doors forever. I also see the overall population decreasing by 5,000 over the next five to ten years, with students moving out and others passing away.
