East of State St seems much safer and cleaner. They have invested TONS of money into a new jr high and Elementary so it surprises me that they have not cleaned up the west side of Midvale (Center St. and Main St.) Main St. has so much potential but is riddled with filth such as gang violence and drugs. Living west of State, our particular street seems safe but only a few residents care about their homes, the others are a COMPLETE eyesore to the entire community. I would like to see Midvale increase code enforcement big time! A few bad apples ruin Midvale for me.

My experience with Midvale is pretty poor. There are homeless people and gangsters around every corner and the only places I feel comfortable is in my house and around the shopping centers. The community is very diverse wen it comes to race and people are pretty friendly its just hard to know who you can trust. Midvale is pretty close to State Street and State Street is known to be pretty ghetto in Utah. I know nobody that would want to walk around at night in Midvale by State Street, that's just asking for a problem. People get mugged, raped, robbed and threatened on State Street and its known for its drug abuse. Thankfully I live in a small community of condos and its all guarded with security cameras and everyone is super nice and trust worthy.
Midvale is a great community. About 20-25 minutes from Salt Lake City and 35 minutes from ski resorts. It is located in a great place, especially if you commute to work. Extremely close to the highway and easy to get anywhere you need. Some fun restaurants! This place is up and coming!
