Midland blesses the residents with it's many beautiful parks. Unique to Midland is the "Tridge," which is a three way bridge standing over a river. The greenery and flowers gracing your sight everywhere you look is something that seems to never get old. Midland can get a little boring, but during the summer they do a great job to always have something going on! Listening to local bands play, watching movies in a garden, and frequenting the local farmers market are just a few of the great activities for Midland's summer. The shopping mall is beginning to close down, which is quite the bummer for many of Midland's residents, but there are still many great stores in Midland that keep the shopping going! Try checking out many of the cute stores, restaurants, and coffee houses in Downtown!

Midland is a quiet town. It's the perfect place to retire if you don't mind the harsh cold winter. Personally, I find Midland to have plenty of activities, especially ones in the outdoors. It's really all about nature here in Midland. You can take a kayak down the Chippewa river, go fishing at the tridge, or take a walk at the Midland city forest. You really feel like you are one with nature. The reason why this town's population is thriving a bit more is thanks to Dow Chemical. It employs people from all over the world and brings them to Midland. That's why Midland is a diverse city as well. Overall, Midland is the perfect place to stay if you like small, quiet towns surronded by small lakes, streams, and forests.
However I think we need more opportunities as things to do for our youth; such as volunteering and mentoring programs. This will enable them to learn as well as focus and even possible make a difference in Midland as they go into the workforce. I also think that our schools need to focus on making sure our graduating classes have what they need to succeed as they go out on there own, for instance a class in basic living; such as starting bank accounts, budgeting checkbooks, and having a budget, this way they are ready for success financially as well.
