The only outdoor place of exercise around here is the high school track. Then again, all you can do there really is run or play soccer/football on the field. All other places are private gyms to which you need a membership. I'm not sure how active people are around here...but I can say I see a decent amount of bikers/walkers/runners on my street. The closest hospital to me isn't perfect, but it's better than other places I've seen. I've never personally been admitted to this hospital, but I've had family members who have been. I am physically active on my own terms. I have a tredmil, eliptical and stationary bike in my basement that I use frequently. When it's nice outside, I ride my bike or take a run down the road or hike through my own property.
I sit on 6 acres of land. However, most homeowners around here are not so lucky. Even my house is now bordered by a new (and very noisy) housing plan. Before that plan, there was a 200 acre Abrabian horse farm. Now all that land is ruined. On my property, I ride my ATVs, hike and sometimes pitch a tent. Anywere else though, things like that are hard to do. The area is growing, and we don't have any parks or lakes/rivers anywhere nearby. The nearest fishing lake is about an hour away. The wildlife is being pushed away in developing areas; perfect example being my own property. We used to hear coyotes almost every night. Ever since that housing plan went in...we don't hear them anymore. They were scared off. It's a shame.
We get some rough wind, rain and thunder/lightning storms from time to time. The winters can be brutal ocassionally as well. Other than that, the weather here is not terrible. Humid in the summers, chilly in the spring, chilly in the fall. The snow usually starts falling by the time Thanksgiving rolls around. My wardrobe consists mainly of jeans, t-shirts, hoodies, tank tops and shorts. I'm usually wearing boots or flip flops and only own tennis shoes for working out.
