I have lived in Methuen my entire life. I grew up in a modest home with my parents and 2 siblings. I enjoyed living in Methuen so much that I decided after I got married, we would purchase a house in Methuen. That is just what we did. My husband and I purchased a house about 3 miles away from my parents. We are now raising our 2 daughters in our home. My husband is a Methuen Police Officer and I am a nurse in Boston. Methuen is the perfect location for us because we have family nearby, access to various resources, and live in a safe neighborhood. Methuen is a great location. It is convenient to all major highways and a perfect spot for a commuter, which I am.

I grew up in Methuen and have recently moved back to raise our family. I had amazing teachers, and there are many opportunities for children to get involved in sports and in the community. The population continues to rise and the town is considering building more and more high rises, which is only growing classroom sizes. This is a huge concern of my children suffering by not having a good student - teacher ration, the need to build new schools to accommodate and just general overpopulation of the city. I would hate to see that happen to what used to be a great place to raise a family. There are multiple farms, small businesses, shopping, restaurants, and you are minutes from NH while being less than an hour away from Boston. It is a great location, but the growth should be limited at this point.
I love Methuen. Went to school here for 5 years, great schools and mostly a safe place to live. I plan to stay here for a couple more years after I graduate from college so I can spend more time close to family and friends. It's not too expensive living here, there are places much more pricey than others so it's always good to have that variety. Everything is somewhat close to home for me. Wish there was more nature surrounding us but I'm overall pleased with where I live now.
