I am a fairly new resident to Mesquite. I have lived here for a year. It is the perfect size for my family. There are several things to do in our town, no matter how varied your interests may be. There are several parks located within a few miles of our house. Last year we had a craft and antique show at the Treasure Barn Sale. One of my family's favorite things has been the vendors that set up several Saturdays a month. They have home made goodies- edible and giftable, local honey, local fruits and vegetables, crafts and too many other things to name!

This is a very lovely area and also very family oriented with a low crime rate. There are great job opportunities within walking distance. Also near by across the bridge is access to a bus line.My experience with Mesquite, TX took place in the form of a two week business stay in 2014. My first impressions were good and they were further reinforced by friends who live in Mesquite. I Friends who live in Mesquite have commented on the excellent school systems and strong community. I can't comment on the schools but the community appears to be very clean and friendly. I did notice an abundance of "hiring" signs which is definitely a good thing for residents in need of work!
Compared to the city of Dallas, the town of Mesquite TX is far more calm and the nights are relatively quiet. There are many parks, small stores and fast food facilities. Mesquite alone doesn't have too much to do, but at times there are library events, after school football games, and music that can be attended. The schooling systems are good and real into band and music. If you're not into big cities and loud noises and you're looking for cheap living expenses, then check Mesquite out!
