There are a lot of great people here, but there are a lot of drug addicts and homeless people too. I would rate it lower if it weren't so beautiful here; the stars are so bright and beautiful at night, and the rogue river offers a lot of tourism and great experiences.
Merlin is a beautiful rural area with rivers, trees, mountains and was used as part of the backdrop for the movie "The River Wild." It's breathtaking and the people are friendly. The only thing I would change is there is a lack of law enforcement and it is often hard to make a report when needed.
On one hand it's nice to live here because it is an extremely tightknit community. On the other hand you cannot go anywhere with out someone knowing your family and they tend to talk. The other issue I have is the fact that it seems like the justice system is failing. People going to jail are not staying when they should be and it seems that the police can not do as much as they should.
