There are a lot of different stores, local and chain, as well as food options in Mentor. There is a wide variety of options in things to do and places to go. There are many local parks that are super nice. However, there is quiet a bit of liter that I have noticed. Mentor high school is a good school with a myriad of opportunities to pursue. I graduated from high school there, and some of the opportunities provided helped lead me and my friends on the paths of life we wanted to go.
My overall experience in Mentor is excellent. I love the quality of the school district. All the teachers are excellent and make the students feel welcome that they are cared for at all times. Mentor has a small community feeling in a big community. All the residents that live in Mentor are so close and when you are out and about they are super helpful and respectful. Especially during covid, our community has tried our best to do our best to stop the spread. Our community has found ways to do things virtually to keep the feeling of being connected .
I have lived in Mentor my whole and have attended Mentor Public Schools. While our community and schools are large, there is still very much a small city feel to Mentor. Everyone here is friendly and I feel this is very safe community. My neighborhood specifically was a very idyllic neighborhood to grow up in. Many of us kids and grew up together, rode the same bus to the same school together, played kick ball in the cul de sac. We had our share fights, mischief, ice cream parties, sleep overs, and Fourth of July celebrations. We also shared our down times with each other such as a friend moving away, parents getting divorced, or a sickness or death in a family. There was never a shortage of meals and support during these times.
Our parents were all friends and we had block parties every summer. I plan to go to college in South Carolina and will miss my town and my neighborhood.
