Mentor Reviews
Rating 4.04 out of 5 170 reviews
Mentor is a great place to grow up and/or start a family. Mentor has many amenities such as plentiful shopping centers, the Great Lakes Mall, many restaurants, choices of stores, and good public schools. Grocery options in Mentor are convenient and inclusive. Grocery options include multiple Giant Eagles, Aldi, Meijer, Heinens, Target, and smaller stores. SNAP and other food stamps are accepted in Mentor, and the public parks are wonderful. Mentor is also the hometown of former President James A. Garfield; the Garfield house is a local excursion and a National Historic Site.
Mentor is over built and very expensive to live. The city planners destroyed what was once a nice city. Its literally restaurant after restaurant. The traffic is a nightmare to drive. Getting aroundt akes double the time to to get anywhere. The police barely patrol the roadways. Who knows what they do because I never see them. Crime is swept under the rug. It would be nice if the city did a police blotter so the citizens knew what was going on. Over all I would move not live in mentor.
Mentor is a great town with some of the best, free, public education opportunities in Ohio. There are College Credit Plus, A.P., and honor programs in the public schools and Mentor has one of the best music programs in the state. There is great real estate variety and is an overall safe place to live.
