Mentor is a very progressive suburban township 45 minutes east of Cleveland. Here is perfect for starting a new family we have an overall low crime rate and plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy. For example, our music cathedral by the civic center houses tribute bands such as Kiss, Aerosmith, and AC/DC. If you aren't into that the mentor mall is constantly adding new stores and restaurants pretty much anything to suit your needs or entertainment. The most iconic thing about Mentor, however, is the Lake. Lake Erie is truly one of the most beautiful sights you'll ever see in your lifetime. There are always activities to do on the water and a lot of the parks near here offer beachside views and activities.

Mentor is a nice, fairly quiet city. It has a large amount of industry including manufacturing and retail. The city is fairly large with beach-front property to the north-end and country feel to the south-end. Housing varies from smaller homes (ranches & bungalows) to larger homes with a few apartment complexes. The School District is good. Many Elementary Schools, 2 middle school’s and 1 high school, which is home to one of the top football team’s in the state. There are also private schools with the city. There is a lot of recreation here. Parks, sports and activities. The Police and Fire Department’s are top notch. The City is very accessible with multiple main roads and 2 main Highway’s, one along the North end and One along the South end of the city.
The only real down side is there is an extreme amount of traffic due to population and industry. Sometimes it seems to take for ever to drive from one end of town to the other.
Growing up in the Mentor has offered me many ways to grow as a person. Being in this community has helped me intellectually and socially. Mentor provides many job opportunities, which is how I found mine working for the city of Mentor. For the past two summers I have been working as a lifeguard in Mentor. This job has taught me many things about responsibility and working with others. Going to school in Mentor is also an experience that I cherish. This is because the school system in Mentor is one that cares for all its students and wants to see them succeed. Currently I am a senior in high school at Mentor and I am going to be sad to have to leave. However, I know that Mentor has prepared me very well in every aspect of myself so that I can succeed and thrive with my life in the future.
