Moved here 30 years ago, stayed with no plans of leaving. Met hubby and have a wonderful family! ;)
There is actually a lot to do once you explore a little bit. This town is full of history and beautiful landscapes. They have shopping and food options all over town.
Menomonie is a small town in Wisconsin with only one high school. It is an excellent and safe place. It was wonderful to grow up here and would be a great place or raise children.
I like Menomonie because it's not too big but it's big enough to have things to do, we are also close to Eau Claire and the Twin Cities which makes it great if you want to live in a smaller town but still want to be close to the cities.
Great location next to two lakes with a friendly atmosphere and community, but real estate is very limited for families, and the university located in the town, cause a lot of disruption to the otherwise great community.
The whole town is very student focused. Unfortunately that means poor rental options and a lot of bars filled with 21-year-olds. It's a decent place for a short period of time, but overall there isn't much to do here.
Menomonie is a college town, but does not have as many perks as Eau Claire. There are a couple of good restaurants but not very much activity going on.
menomin lake is a great place to visit in the summer time, along with all the parks, lots of great companies and factories to work at
Eh, its okay. Some stuff to do in town but definitely not a place you want to be outside at during the night (unless you like to party uncontrollably).
Menomonie Wisconsin, like every city, has its ups and downs. It is a great, friendly environment where many people know each other. I regularly run into people I know and always start a conversation with them. The downside to the city is their is very few things to do. Entertainment for a Friday night is dinner and a movie... that is about it. Overall the city is a great place to be born and raised in.
Menomonie is a small town with an estimated population of over 16,000 residents. This town is situated around Lake Menomin, which makes for beautiful sceneries. Although Lake Menomin is a pretty view, it's polluted and residents can catch sicknesses from the on going algae growth from the water. There's also lots of fast food places located around Menomonie, but there are several restaurants for healthier eating. The publics schools are great, mostly including Oaklawn Elementary. Overall Menomonie a wonderful place to visit. Stout University is right in the center of downtown, so there's lots of students out and about at night. This makes Menomonie a social area and more full with people. You might even bump into a few exchange students. The diversity is always a good thing to see.
Menomonie is a small city-like town with a great downtown area and library. We have a nice campus right in the heart of town, college students are seen all around Menomonie. We have a fairly good public school system, and we also have a Catholic private school offered as well.
Menomonie is a nice small city. Not a lot of crime and a variety of restaurants. Lake Menomin is a perfect place to fish which is right in town. Hoffman hills is nearby as well. It has very good hiking trails if you feel like being outdoors. The downtown area is nice and filled with little stores and bars if you feel for a drink. Overall its a interesting place but eventually will want to go elsewhere for entertainment.
Menomonie is a wonderful town. We moved over 14 years ago and everyone is so welcoming and friendly. It is 90 minutes from the Twin Cities and 30 minutes from Eau Claire. The best thing about being near a big town is that you don't have to live there and deal with all the problems. Menomonie is the best town I have ever lived in.
We love Menomonie! It is conveniently close to the Twin Cities, yet has that small town charm. Menomonie offers much to do for the outdoor enthusiast, with extensive trails, Hoffman Hills for hiking, Tripp Falls, Devils Punchbowl and much more! Enjoy a fun performance at the historic Mabel Tainter Theater downtown and browse the fun antique and boutique shops offered. UW-Stout keeps Menomonie young and fresh and Mayo Clinic in Menomonie provides excellent healthcare. Come experience the wonderful city of Menomonie yourself! I promise you will not be disappointed!
Menomonie has plenty to do. There are historic sites to visit, two libraries, plenty of nice restaurants, and a few coffee shops. It's home to UW-Stout, and there is a Chippewa Valley Technical College campus there. The only drawback is that Lake Menomin, which is in the center of town, turns green from algae in the summertime. However, UW-Stout has a program centered around solving the algae problem. Aside from that, Menomonie is a very pleasant place to live, and attend college.
I moved to Menomonie to attend UW-Stout and have lived here for 3 years after graduating. It's a pretty quiet town for the most part, as long as you're not in the downtown area. There's almost always community events going for all ages, with a community cookout, parades every year as the mainstays among many others. There are plenty of options for bars, quite a few local businesses that offer great products. The restaurants are typical fare, offering many options for pizza and fast food, with a few local sit down restaurants as well. There are a lot of parks to choose from. There are plenty of jobs for those attending college, otherwise you're better off looking over in neighboring Eau Claire for more permanent work. Being located right on I-94 it isn't much of a chore to get to any neighboring cities. North end of town has a quiet residential area. Great library and a fun water park, biking friendly. The Mabel-Tainter theatre is worth the trip itself, absolutely beautiful.
