Mendota Heights is a great city that is loved by many because the community is great, and there are many public parks with safe measures taken by the city. I have never had a safety problem and hear about little to no crime in the neighborhood. Mendota Heights also benefits from its proximity to the Twin Cities. Residents can easily access the cultural amenities, job opportunities, and entertainment options available in the metropolitan area. One of the drawbacks is the cost of living, which can be relatively high compared to other parts of the state. One more small concern I have about Mendota Heights is the construction on the streets. I often have to take different routes to school when a long street named Dodd road is under construction. Overall Mendota Heights is a beautiful and scenic city with many parks and public areas to enjoy.
I have lived in Mendota Heights for about 5 years now, and I believe it is a great place to raise a family. The community is very open and friendly. We enjoy being close to so many parks and trails, and love how many trees there are. There is just a general sense of everything being open, natural, and safe. We are a short walk from the river, and often use the many bike trails around here as well, even though there are quite a few hills! There is also a relatively small commute time to school and work, while not feeling we are in the middle of a crowded city.
have lived in the city before; I love the safety, privacy, and quietness of the suburbs, but the community as well! I am right in between St. Paul and Minneapolis, one 10 minutes away and one 15 minutes away. My dog has never been more happy to have such clean air and more space.
