Memphis is notorious for its violence and decline in economy, but Memphis is in its process of rebuilding itself. It is doing a great job as of now. If you are a deciding parent that needs to put their child/children in a school, definitely look into private schools instead of public schools because it is HORRIBLE! The Shelby County School system is the worst when it comes to education. I recommend Heritage Baptist for young children and Lausanne Collegiate School for middle to upper school. There are also Houston which is free, but is like a private school...absolutely amazing. CBHS for an all boys school and Hutchison for an all girls school. There are some fun things to do here in Memphis, going to the mall, Memphis Zoo, skating rinks ,etc.

Memphis is a very diverse city. There is no other place in Tennessee like Memphis. Nashville may be known for all of their music, but Memphis is known for their music and BBQ. This city is the best place you can get pork BBQ. The music is a blessing to the ears and the nightlife is truly wholesome. You feel like you are in a community that loves their city. Memphians are passionate about their city. Memphians love to help their community and love the Grizzilies! Grint n' Grind. Memphis may not have amusement parks, but it is a historical town full of museums, sports, and liveliness. There is something for everyone.
Memphis has a lot to offer, you just have to go look for it! This city also is the basis of a lot of history, from Elvis Presley to the Civil Rights Movement. In addition, the people that reside in the city are very much about their hustle. Everywhere you go there will always be someone nearby trying to make something of themselves despite their circumstances. Hence is why this home to the Memphis Grizzlies (NBA) is nicknamed the "Grind-City".
