I enjoyed the small town vibe, in the sense that you can always find someone that knows and trusts you. But this can be a negative side of things when everyone is also interconnected with one another. Families stick within their familial wall and don't too often allow for new comers, but this can give you privacy as well. The city itself is located near farms, the Sauk River, and has many restaurants to visit. Melrose can surprise you with the little things you can find.

it is kind of small with some weird people in it. There are a lot of really good resterauts around there. They have a turkey plant there which makes super good turkey. The school is kind of ok.
I live in a tight-knit community. Everybody knows everybody and I have always felt safe in my hometown. It is a small town, but everything I need is only a short drive away. There are a number of parks to play at and many nearby lakes to visit. There is one high school in town and it is a perfect size. I was able to make friends with people of different ages which was important to me. Sports play a big role in this community as well as in my family. It was important that I could be a student athlete throughout high school. Melrose is a great place to live and raise a family.
