Melbourne, Kentucky is a small town. It is called a suburb, but it is very rural. Many farms and large plots of land fill the spaces between houses. There are a variety of small churches in the area. It is very week in terms of a night life, with no restuarants or stores. But, it is a great place to live and raise kids. It is quiet, with almost zero crime. Your neighbors are not nosy, but they will help you out, and are very kind. The people are all very nice. And it is not very hard to get a hold of property, as it is not very expensive. It is just a great place to live.

the crime in the area goes unchecked. the police are somewhat of a joke. theres drugs going on and we have a neighbor who has resorted to posting a sign to warn the drug users that kids play in their yard and to stop throwing their used needles in their front yard.but no anarchy. havent had too many break ins. wouldnt say its terrible, but it isnt as great as it used to be.
the area is located in the flood plane and flood insurance is what ties most people here. they cant sell their houses because no one wants to pay for the flood insurance price.
