I love Melba. It has such a great small town feel, yet it is only 20 minutes from larger cities such as Nampa, and 40 minutes from Meridian and Boise. The allows you to have access to the hills and to live in the country, yet still be able to easily get to the store, movie theaters, shopping, nightlife, and more. Melba is mostly farm land. The school system is great with K-12 on the same campus. Sports are a big focus, but the school also offers choir/band, art, drama, dance, computers, clubs, and more.
What I like about Melba is the small town feel of knowing most of the people in the community. The annual community auction in January and the Old Tyme 4th of July celebration are two events that bring massive numbers overflowing the streets of our small town and generosity overflows as well. The school district is the central hub of the town. Overall people are supportive, caring, and helpful.
