There are, as in any other small town, the kids that will vandalize public facilities and steal from the gas stations in our town. The police are active when something or someone isn't right. There are rental homes that aren't taken care of properly but are still in good, living condition. Nothing I'm too worried about. The sidewalks are fine for the most part, besides typical weathering. There is graffiti on some of the old run down buildings but I've yet to see any new graffiti. Other than that, pretty good and safe town.. There is nothing too out of ordinary.
Our school and its employees have definitely taken a hit with the the budget cuts. School year was shorter and salaries too. Some of the teachers were actually laid off because of budget cuts. Knowing that, people wouldn't want to put their kids in such a school, so why move here. There have definitely been some new businesses open up and they are thriving, which is a great thing to see.
I would like to see businesses that can actually stay open, but I enjoy the small town atmosphere. It is a town that needs to be extensively cleaned.
