Mechanicsville is my home, It'll always have a special place in my heart no matter how far I go and travel. It is super quaint and innocent, there are plenty of parks, elementary schools, and family friendly events. Therefore, I would consider it an average, quiet town; perfect for those like me who stay in on a Friday night. However, my family is kind of the black sheep in a town like this. We are of Hispanic heritage, but my no means have we been brutally discriminated. Even though my home is right leaning, the majority of people here treat everyone with respect and kindness. Overall, Mechanicsville is a safe and wonderful place to raise a family while also being surrounded by generous people who are always willing to lend a hand.

I moved to Mechanicsville, VA a little under two years ago. I've fallen in love with this area! I've chosen to raise my kids here because of the excellent school systems, diversity, activities and location. It's local to Virginia Beach, the Chesapeake Bay, D.C., and Richmond! They have a wonderful park system which includes playgrounds, picnic tables, and some even have camping. I highly recommend the area.
Mechanicsville in Virginia is one of the nicest locations to live. It is situated outside of Richmond, thus having all the positives of a city without the negatives. It is in the middle of the east coast, thus close to many ideal locations for travel. Washington DC, the mountains, and Virginia Beach are all about 2 hours away. There are multiple historical locations within 20 minutes, especially those of the Civil War. People here are open, friendly, and talkative. The area is semi-rural and picturesque. When trying to think of some negative aspects of the town, none come to mind. It truly is one of the most beautiful location in Virginia.
