I love the quietness and stillness of Mebane. Also, Mebane tends to have a little cheaper services than surrounding cities. For an example, compared to Durham, Burlington and Greensboro, Mebane's gas is cheaper. Also the taxes on food at restaurants and grocery stores is cheaper in Mebane. Lastly, I love that Mebane is growing. When I first moved to Mebane in 2010 there were not many businesses. However, there are many more thriving businesses in Mebane now including: Starbucks, Hershey BBQ, iNails, and more. If you are looking for a place to live, enjoy and save money Mebane is the place to go!

Mebane is a very sweet place to grow up. It is a good place to create memories and have a small town feel in your life. There really is not much to complain about other than the fact that in Mebane, there are not many hang out spots. There are a few coffee shops and one bowling alley, but Mebane could use some more. There are some very kind residents in Mebane, and everyone knows everyone, so you feel a bit safer than you would in a bigger city. The schools are very old and need updates as soon as possible. They were built a very very long time ago and need to be gutted and made new. There is some good food in Mebane, and some good mom and pop places to eat it. There are not many places to work that are not fast food or retail, for teenagers at least, but a job is a job. Mebane is a great place to raise your kids to love their neighbor, and appreciate the little things in life.
Mebane is a nice, growing community between Greensboro, Durham, and Chapel Hill (Triad and Triangle). We moved from across the country for work and are pleased with the area. If you have a family, I couldn't think of a better place. When you compare cost of living, schools, commute to work, etc.. this town is hard to beat. Its a 25 min drive to Duke University (Where I went to school) and 30 min to UNC (where I work). Most people that live inside the Triangle (Durham, Chapel HIll, Raleigh) have the same if not longer commute time. I would recommend this area to anyone wanting a nice house to raise a Family.
