Overall, Mead is a nice place to live. Neighbors are nice and the school district isn't bad. Mead isn't very diverse, however. It has a large Caucasian population, and this is most notable in schools. There are some stores in Mead that do have quite a bit of racial prejudice. My overall experience with Mead has been nice, as the majority of people are well-mannered, however I cannot say that my experience is universal.
A bit outside of the city of spokane, it's right against the base of Mt. Spokane state park so it's also close to the Mt. Spokane Ski resort. There are several good k-12 schools in the area and a lot of local events and fun outdoor activities year round.
There's some nice aspects to the Mead area, but I find the area slowly becoming one with Spokane and more urban. Great if you're into more of a city life though.
