McKeesport Reviews

This is so far my least favorite place to live. I reside on a semi busy street where things are always going down. Never in my life have I had to get down on the floor because I heard gunshots until I moved here. The parking is TERRIBLE and neighbors are constantly fighting over parking spots. Cars fly up and down this road where many children live. A child was actually struck by a car last year. I definitely want to move as soon as I get the chance!
I like that McKeesport has plenty of bus stops near many locations/addresses, which makes it easier to get around if you have no car. I also like the big get-together that takes place at Renzie park where they have live music and hot food. I just wish they’d fix the road and potholes and upgrade the buildings and homes. Also, be a *little* stricter with laws.
I landed in McKeesport due to circumstances as well, and I lived in a nice house/ apt near "the mound". That is near Renzie Park, and is one of the safer areas. I lived there for several years, before eventually moving east where I am from. In those years, I explored McKeesport & its history; and saw the decline today. Crime is bad; it only got worse in the years I was there. And yes, the people all know each other and do not like newcomers- trust me; despite my affection for the town. McKeesport has nice SECTIONS: 4th Ward, Grandview Ave. Area, Renzie area, White Oak... and the beautiful Renzie Park, Marina, and Carnegie Library are a few of its "gems". You really need a car though, because the buses are NOT reliable, and I had to walk very far each day. In my opinion, McKeesport is a nice "bedroom town" while working in Pittsburgh or West Mifflin.
