McGregor is a quiet place to live. The public school system is excellent. The variety and quality of neighborhoods is good, although there is current shortage of housing. There isn't a lot of diversity and it is a very conservative and republican area.
Mcgregor is that cliche small town where everybody knows everybody and people remember your great grandparents and their parents. Mcgregor is a decent place to live with everything you need either in the town or in the neighboring city, Waco. Over the years, I've watched Mcgregor grow and it is still progressively growing.
My experience in McGregor has been the best years someone could ever have as a student. I live right in between all four campuses, the primary, elementary, junior high, and the high school. Thankfully my parents picked a decent home to live in, we've lived here all our lives. We are a family of ten and not one of us ever went to school on there own. We were all born a two or three years apart so we are all in school with a buddy. I love the support in this town in everything we do. At games, races, and events, we always have a good group of people there to support. I grew up here, I've lived here all my life and I've always felt safe around here. People are very friendly all around, at night we luckily don't have issues. There's not many job opportunities but I think we have enough for a small town like us. Everything seems affordable and we have plenty of parks and places to go to have a good time.
It used to have a small town feel but with the addition of local large companies it has lost it's small town appeal.
Complete dump! Trashy looking town with pot holes every 5 feet on every street. Ugly, old houses with junky yards. None of the buildings in town are maintained and they all look terrible. The grocery store is, overpriced and food there is expired half the time and most of the produce is always rotten. Every other yard has 1 or more pit bulls tied to a fence or a tree in the backyards. They all bark on my street day and night. SpaceX is a major disturbance with constant engine testing that rattles my house. Not sure what the city of McGregor does with the $650,000 they receive from SpaceX every year, but it sure doesn't go to improve the roads or town. There's no jobs to be had here either, unless you want to be a slave over at C3. I've lived here for nearly 2 years now. I moved here from Wimberley, TX to be near my mom, and I can't wait to move back! Worst town I've ever lived in. Can't for the life of me understand why anyone would want to live in this crappy town.
McGregor is a small town outside of Waco, Texas. It is the perfect place to be if you don't enjoy the big town. McGregor is quite little town that has an amazing community. The town offers many opportunities to be connected with everyone, from founders day to crawfish boils.
McGregor is more like a family rather than a town, people love and adore one another greatly. They through support around like confetti, and they're always there for one another regardless of the situation. McGregor is honestly the place to be.
McGregor is an amazing place to be a part of. Though there are many different people here we still come together as one. Everyone in the community helps each other out when in need. The people from McGregor are loving and caring. There are some great things to go see such as the Magnolia House behind Main Street.
McGregor is a growing town with lots of current and future opportunities. The schools are great. McGregor is the perfect place to live--small town living right next to a bigger city.
