I grew up in Maywood all my life and there have been, of course, some great experiences and some not so great ones. Almost every year in either the spring or fall, the city hosts a community fair that is great fun! Plus there are many shopping outlets and food areas to choose from. The downside is that many of the streets are very narrow and it is a pain to find an open parking spot. Not to mention there is some crime that pops up ever so often where one can be woken up by the sirens. Overall, the community as a whole is great as there are many local schools that can be easily reached in walking distance as well as community parks. In my personal experience, Maywood's community bus is great and accessible to people of all ages to get around the city for free.

Maywood is a quiet city that is close to Los Angeles. It is predominantly Hispanic community that has a sense of friendliness. Although the small city can be over looked, many events happen such as the city fair. Maywood has a library, many food places, and parks. There are several schools ranging from elementary to high school, they are all close to each other.
Despite from all the positives, there are a few cons, which include littering. The streets have wrappers and plastic every so often. I believe if every person or a small fraction of the city picked up their trash instead of throiwing it on the street then the city would be cleaner.
I grew up in Maywood and it has been my home for over 15 years. Its a small little city near Los Angeles, and it isnt the safest for anybody. It has a gang and there are accidents regarding them. Although it has a dangerous spot, Maywood still manages to be happy. We have a street fair almost every year that brings everybody together and truly makes everybody happy. It brings even people from neighboring cities together. Maywood isn't the greatest from an outside persons opinion, but to me, Maywood is my home and will always be regardless of its flaws.
