Small town, however, it is a very convenient spot to live in. Less than 10 minutes from Garden State Plaza, 20 min (on a good day) away from New York, and it has very nice parks to take kids and very good education. Diversity has increased throughout the years which is a great thing for the kids. The schools have great teachers as well. The parents of the children are great, most of them very involved in school and sports. Maywood is great town overall, great for families.

The nature aspect of this small town is amazing. It definitely earned their title for "tree city." The local businesses are focused on customer service so well, and devote themselves to making customers happy.
Maywood is a very small family oriented town in Bergan county NJ. I moved here when I was about 10 years of age and attended the local middle school, Maywood Avenue School. This school definitely prepared me for high school and gave me a school foundation when it comes to academics. Because of the small size of the town there is not a lot to do, but it is located relatively close to other places such as NYC or the Jersey shore so as long as you have a car there is always something to do.
