I have lived in Maysville KY for about 13/16 years of my life, like most reviews say, its a quiet town where you could live out your life. There isn't an amazing variety of things to do but that's great because you can make things to do. It's a very open community and will change at a moments notice if change is needed. There are tons of parks littered along the river and in downtown Maysville, most are within walkong distance from my old house on Forest Ave. There are penty of quick shops and most thing downtown are in walking distance and it's really just a nice place to be. There are some down-sides of course, in the alleyways aren't always the safest places to be but it's not outrageously dangerous either.
Maysville is a beautiful and quaint town on the Ohio River in NE KY. My first visit was 3 years ago and I liked it so much that I retired there. For most of my life I thought towns like Maysville only existed in story books and TV shows. It's not just a beautiful place but has 2 historic districts, good places to eat, a large and lovely county park and friendly down to earth people. I never tire walking the historic downtown with beautiful architecture, cute shops and many festivals. If you want to get out of the rat race and move to a friendly beautiful town with very nice people, Maysville won't disappoint.
Maysville doesn't have very many opportunities for advancement in any aspect. There is a community college but they only offer associate's or technical degrees. Job opportunities are slim. There are a few factories, a lot of fast food places, and a few hospital/doctor offices. That about sums up the working force in Maysville.
