For a being a small village, Maurice is packed full of subdivisions, pot-holed roads, and people traveling back and forth between Abbeville and Lafayette.
The schools for my kids are great, the people are friendly, the police on patrol can be a bit aggressive.
I have lived in Maurice, LA for two years now and i can say that my experience has been bitter sweet. I have heard back story that it is a very racist town and the police aren't so pleasant but my experience has been the opposite. However, when it comes to their elementary school, Cecil Picard Elementary, my son and I have been through a lot. He is now an Honor Roll student needless to say.
