Mattapoisett is a very small town. Everything is in one central area and everyone knows each other. The only problem is that the town is unwelcoming to newcomers and especially hard on new students or minorities. I wish the town was more diversively accepting and focused more on education rather than sports.

The town is very small. It has coastal charm, but is not very active during the winter months. It is a nice area to visit during the summer! There are golf courses, beaches, and quaint shops across the town.
The community is very friendly and there always events going on at the wharf, churches, or the library. The houses are beautiful, and so is the view, especially if you are near the ocean. All of the people I met were very friendly and the area is safe for children and never too busy with cars etc. The police force is also very connected with the town and host a few events every year. Lovely people. Lovely town. No complaints, other than I wish I didn't have to leave.
