I’ve lived in Massapequa my entire life. It’s a nice town, basically no crime so it’s a very safe neighborhood. The schools in this district are also very good. This town has plenty of delis, pizza places, and in general many places to eat and hang out with friends and family. That being said, one can notice a major lack of socioeconomic diversity. The demographic is majority upper-middle class and upper-class white families and senior citizens.
I wish a town with such a rich background was more in touch with its history, it appears as though any signs of its background from old structures to history about the Native Americans that lived there are slowly being wiped away. The town is just notorious for its grouping of people and almost shunning others that they find do not belong. I guess it's a good town for young parents with children, who want a good education, but I can't say anything else about the town. It was rather disappointing and isolating living there.
I've lived in Massapequa my entire life and could not think of a better place to grow up. My parents were married here and bought their first house here. My sister and I both attended school for 9 years here. Everything is very local and very exciting. There are many different things activities available for families as well as couples. The restaurants are great, the stores are great, even the supermarkets are great.
