Massapequa is a great area to raise a family. The area is overall very safe and has great schools, small stores, activities and much more! I have lived in Massapequa my entire life and I could not imagine living anywhere else. It is very expensive to live in Massapequa since it is close to the water and is a very safe area with great features. It located about an hour away from Manhattan and there are 2 train stations in Massapequa. Massapequa Park had a wonderful strip for night life. It is a family- friendly place and is also great for adults. There are many job opportunities especially for teens because of all the small business that are in massapequa. Everywhere you go, you see a familiar face and everyone looks out for each other.

The main part about this town that I live in is that everyone knows each other, which is a good and a bad thing. Most people never leave the town. I would like to see some improvement with the neighborhood aesthetic. The homes are also not affordable at all, and there is a distinct difference between the wealth of some areas compared to others. The town should work on making the town as a whole beautiful and appealing to the eye. I do enjoy there is a lot to do around here, during the day and the night life. There is the mall, plenty of pizza places, schools are great, parks are clean. Overall this is a great town to grow up and make a family in.
I have lived in Massapequa for 38 years. The neighborhood has remained unchanged. Most people who live here stay here. We have great public schools. Even most of the teachers in the district were born and raised here and attended these schools themselves. The neighborhood is very actively involved with the NYPD and NYFD. The community always rallys together to support one another by raising money or taking donations to help families in need.

There are many good food options in Massapequa as well as shopping centers and great parks!Always promote local business. 99% of the businesses here are owned and operated by people who live in the community so they are always giving back!

The one thing I would want to change here is the taxes. They are the highest on Long Island which is making it hard to be able to afford to live here.
